A rope reel from a workshop in Myslenice

The ropemaking reel (giszer – from German Seilgeschirr, twister) consists of a metal mechanism moved by a crank, driving cogwheels that transmit the drive to 4 hooks, and is mounted on an iron structure. A rope wheel from a workshop in Nowy Wisnicz

The rope wheel consisted of a large flywheel moved by a crank, the drive by means of a belt or cord was transferred to 4 rollers with hooks. It was possible to adjust the height of the upper part, in which the rollers (not preserved) were fixed, achieving the appropriate tension of the belt (also not preserved). The machine used a large wagon wheel with an iron rim.
